Return to Kosaczev.. Necromunda 2017 Downtown Dust up

Whole band of civilians used, despite stray shots rules only singular civilian was gunned down this game.

 I am having a lot of fun painting Hangers on and strange personas for Necromunda. Over the years I've built quite some of them and featured them heavily on this blog. Recently I got my few Forge world resin ones. As I've added 5 more since January this year  I decided its time to use them at the dawn of the new edition (or dusk of 2017). We played the Downtown Dust up  a scenario I've been eying for a some time. It comes from older Main Rulebook - First Hard cover one that replaced original 2017 box rulebook and was removed from current (for another two weeks as we speak) hardcover and following softcover rulebooks. As we speak Necromunda 2017 have 3 hardcover and 3 softcover rulebooks despite having virtually same rules in them, just updated with new material like vehicles and specific campaign material. What is unique in Downtown Dust up - its singular scenario using NPC civilian miniatures as scenario element and not extra arbitrator tools. And I wanted to play it for some time as I love scenarios with neutral creatures from Frostgrave/Stargrave styled games. There are rules to how civilians will react to violence around them, they can either decide to ignore it as kind of norm in the Hive, they can break in fear and run for cover or they can produce their gun and shot closest model in the back (which happened quite often and they smoked few holes in the Eschers and The Cawdors).

 I've made only few photos of the actual game itself as I had somewhat unfinished Escher gang and fought against undercoated Cawdors but I took some photos of the civilians themselves in group and in natural habitat.

Oldest civilian Ive made (Goliath worker girl made from OG plastic Goliath around 2005 with spud jacker replacing her inferior worktool in 2017) and a FW Relicmonger Ive painted in 2026

Whole happy group. I love those models. My problem is I want to paint them and not my Eschers. I hope I will get the second wind thanks to new models and some actual gaming with them. I built6 new Eschers after this game.. now to paint them will be more gruelling work :D

Plague marines

I don't like Nurgle stuff.. Daemons, characters nor Marines. Nurgle aesthetics is just not for me.
But those new Plague Marines are just so good I broke and painted Nurgle things first time in my life.. They don't have purpose but I guess this is nice starting Kill Team kill team :P

I did 6 of them. 4 from Dark Imperium great set ad pair I got from some smaller starter set I bought for extra poses of Pox walkers.
I converted the champion. Removed his ugly face and silly stalagmites from his armor. Added skull helmet and shield - I cannot decide what cat of arms he should be wearing there but I want something atypical. I will decide later. I call them finished now and he is black shield :P

I am waiting with great anticipation for hinted Slaaaneshian Marines revival.. maybe I will finish my own builds soon..

Middle Earth bandwagon and some

I wanted to try LOTR game for ages now (like 10 years.. Last when it came tomy head I bought some dirt cheap models (there were really cheap so I reinforced my Moria goblins and High elves I bought for the paints while in the day the were extras to really cheap to pair of first numbers of LOTR magazines and Fellowship set I got for less than 10 dollars).  It returned with new beautiful set I desperately want to buy (but have to wait some time as rogue Trader is coming next week :(
Some of my last time LOTR urge were those 8 old Mordor Orcs. 

Really old model but quite cool sculpts. Unfortunately part of their cheapness was fact they were painted. I wanted fast job so resprayed so they lost some of the detail, but I think they are workable for such throw away priced models (IIRC less than 3 dollars for them).

After finishing them I snapped and bought pair of old heroes Gorbak and Gorbak as they were really cheap and could go up in price with LOTR renaissance) and men those are insanely detailed and cast in comparison to plastics. Little wonders. SO expect more photos of this 8 with both "heroses" painted soon in more  scenic photos.

And secondly... Those guys. Superb models from Dark Imperium set. First painted himself and I decided I want to more. Really detailed and really simple paint jobs.

Very nice models. And not that nurgly as I expected.. They will be undivided but really mutated and degenerate bunch of renegades.

Rogue Trader Isabella LaCroix and Lars Kroft

Ive finished one of my =I=Munda teams. Rogue trader landing party of Madame Isabella DeLacroix and her associate Xeno Archeologist Lars Kroft.

As I used them in two LPL entries this year I managed to finish them in time (sans little detail of DeLacroix logo but I have to invent one first to add it)
