Christmas looting - Pirates !

A surprising gift!! (As a rule I don't get miniatures from Santa to not annaoy my mother and mother in law :)
But this year  Ive got GW miniature I like most from this year releases.
Plastic Black Arc Fleetmaster !!
Beauty ! (I like most of the plastic characters - best line from GW in years, and I habe most of them in some distant plans (strangely more from WFB) to be converted into some 40K characters.

Here we have great Dark Eldar leader.. or bad Ass Eldar pirate, or even old school Eldar mercenary. I liked the miniature so conversion was minimalistic-hardly visible except the gun)  Leg exchange for Dire Avenger ones (i hated his sabre leg - silly idea !) and strange weapon swapped for a Splinter pistol (I love large and long wild west revolver looks of those!)
So behold menacing presence of Pirate prince. This guy is menacing - its hard to do in miniature, especialy plastic but he IS..!! Those miniatures are getting better and better and have lot of character, especially when one remembers bland old plastics.. But this guy is special in this regard. He is simply bad ass.. I was worried by his height but he blends well with other miniatures.

Now i just have to make him pirate crew :)

Exarch * Egzarcha

Eldar were my first love in miniature wargaming.

When I saw those fabulous Jes Goodwin original Aspect warriors in WD 127 I fell in Love with them instantly.
I played them a lot in 2nd edition and for some time in 3rd, but I was disappointed and bored by Gav Thorpe 3rd ed Eldar Codex. It lacked spark It had in the past, and new models that replaced Goodwins originals were of inferior quality (with exception of Banshees).
I switched to their evil kin and played Dark Eldar till i lost interest in 40K.  Ive never had endurance nor patience ( nor money) to paint lot of them, and my painting was much less rafined, so I did not have mases of models from 2nd edition but It used very small armies by today standards. Now I had not really played any 40k for many years but I buy a Eldar model from time too time (mostly older stuff bu I quite like modern Aspect warriors too).
Most of the time they do not put a spell on me like old Jes Goodwin models but I really like some of them.

This is Dire Avenger Exarch Ive bought cheaply (and sprayed blue). I wanted to try few glazing techniques and two days later here he is. My first fully painted Eldar model since 2000 :) I like the effect although I will probably add some little runes to empty spaces on his galaxy banner and some snow to his base. Overall I am really happy with his color scheme (it looks better in real life) and with some variation is easily maintained so I started to repaint and finish my guardians and Farseer..

To horn or not to horn ? / Ogonek czy nóżka ??

 I am a man who took decision quickly.. unless they are what pizza to order decisions. But Ive been paralyzed in the past with inability to decide for a paint scheme for an army.. But I was fast to make my conversions and picking parts and poses for my miniatures.. Till Now.. I am frozen .. I cant decide I prefer this guy with a horn and 4 eyes head or with a hair and high forehead variant.. Thats killing me..
(He is WIP, those NMM gold are killing me, but I stopped until I will decide :>

Normalnie nie mam problemu z decyzyjnością (prócz wybierania pizzy.. i okazjonalna nieumiejętnością wyboru koloru armii :) Ale nigdy nie miałem problemów z montowaniem modeli i konwertowaniem.. A tu klops.. Zupełnie nie mogę się zdecydować czy wolę go z rogami i 4 oczków czy z futrem i wysokim czołem.. ;/

Dark Eldar

As many of you i was enamored with new line of Dark Eldar models. Beautiful plastics accompanied by line of perfect metals. But i putted away buying them until i would eventually have more incentive to do anything 40K. I decided to get the Wyches in the end when I was looking for a a head for my Hive heroine and Gwendolyn in peril.

But then with those great plastics in hand i wanted more, and as another waves of models were showing up (Archon court I see you !

I am bit of irregular 40 k models - my favorite line of all time is Inquisition and henchmen) Ive deiced to get some at last. 
As i was latecomer Ive been sentenced to use finecast.

That was huge disappointment but lets keep to the models themselves which are just pure brilliant ! One of best miniatures GW ever made. Here are my effort with 5 Wyches and Urien Rakarth - disturbingly great piece of  miniature art.
As Ive seen after taking photos they both need some extra work, and of course bases..

Seond miniature Ive sculpted (without head obviously, because I am far from face sculptures..) painted. She will be representing Escher prisoner in Rescue missions (i have plans for captive for each gang)

Second my take on true scale marine. It was fast and dirty project for fun but i have to say that i like the guy :> Ive newer have that much fun with marines since i left elementary school (well to be honest Ive newer liked them so i choose Alpha legion - old school )

And if someone is interested this is first mini Ive sculpted (that time on imperial guard dolly). Inspired by Inquisitor monk with hammer. I jeśli ktoś byłby zainteresowany pierwsza figurka jaką wyrzeźbiłem - Mnich z młotem  wzorowany na modelu z Inkwizytora.

Ive decided to try  GW washes with a models Ive painted around 1996.



Ostatnio postanowiłem wypróbować nowe washe GW na starutkich modelach które pomalowałem około 1996.
Egzarcha był wtedy tylko popodkładowany .Efekt jest bardzo zadowalający !

Exarch/Autarch was only undercoated coated at the time. He is painted with basecoat of Rooting flesh and blue wash

Infinity 15 part II: Second Aquila

Whole family so far. painting started on the first one.

And the second Aquila in 15 mm. This time less of a copy (i don't have this model) but still i tired to emulate styling and pose. next one will be posed by me and more static.

Druga Aquila 15 milimetrowa. Tym razem nie jest to tak dokładna kopia a inspiracja. Choć starałem się emulować pozę i styl (nie mma tego moedlu w 28 :)
Nastepna sie już finiszuje powoli i będzie bardziej statyczna i całkowicie moja :>

Close Conversion of CMG Snakemen to Power Armors, GZG old style power armors upgunned with Khurasan guns and Khurasan PA team. And Titan marines from Rebel and few OG15 Africans. And Khurasan Orcas and Felid Humvee toy.

Epic Eldar Warp Hunters

Dla odmiany coś ze stajni GWi spod znaku jak pieknie to z francuska mówi Siudmak Sięs-fiksią :P

Eldarzy do Epica.

Epic to pierwsza gra figurkowa, w która grałem, Na zestaw startowy uciułałem w podstawówce jeszcze gdzieś koło 1994. Po obejrzeniu nowych pieknych 40 stkowych modeli Forge world postanowiłem skonwertować obrzydliwe Epicowe fire prismy w restylowane Warp huntery. Idea grav-Stuga chodzi mi po głowie od dawna. Z tego wyszły bardzo fajne.

 

Now for something Sci-fi, Epic Eldar tanks. Epic is my first wargame. I started to play it around 1994 when I managed to gather enough pocket money to buy starter set. Unfortunately then any more models were beyond my financial and technical capabilities to buy. I had some play around Epic 40 k age but it was soon abandoned by GW and my friends, and started to look again on it in Epic Armageddon era. when I had enough disposable income to buy few armies. I am still painfully slowly painting and modeling them.

So here are my take on grav-Stug – lovely restyled by Forge World Warp Hunters in Epic size (made from ugly epic fire prism)
