Indiana Jones and the Last Adventure..

I was sitting one night and got struck by a thought.. Lets sculpt some Cthulhu stuff.. And so 15 minutes later I ended up with crudely made from FIMO (wonder material for simple sculpts) Older race of Yith member :>

One of mine all time favorite silly monster type. I didnt have anything in genre finished co i grabbed this WIP Indy and some long overdue WIP Necromunda terrain.

Blast from the past - Blister plastic Fighters

Due to recent game I probably raised from the grave local starship gaming :) So here are my fast and dirty fighters on the cheap as example to potential creators.


First: Two wings of Delta Vs from Babylon 5, and B5 Shuttle.
Due to shape it is very easy model to build.. really :>

Ships from Wing Commander 3 are a little more complicated but not that much. Here are Vaktoths and Dralthi

How to convert Zvezda hanomags 251/ B for a C :>

If you are like me you bought cheap and excellent Zvezda Sdkfz models at a whim. There are to cheap not to get one each time I am in friendly miniature shop..
But technically speaking I don't want old Sdkfz 251 B - they were almost extinct in late war period - 43 + I am interested with.
Willing to play with them and don't lie to myself that they looks like each other I have but one option - conversion. So I tried.

 My first try was to hide obvious type marks. It is doable with front plate but mudguards and boxes are much harder to do.

Most important differentiating features between C and B are - Front, engine armor, mudguards, boxes and viziers at the sides.
1: Front. To change Sdkfz from B to C we need to cut it front completely. Happily front part of the Zvezda kit is made from two parts and cut easily. Best bet of cut is around 60 degrees- best to check on some pictures/plans. Then you have to replace front plate with thin plasticard and cut to shape - and fill any mises.

2. Second part is removing mudguards. Its easily done but you have to plan at this stage. You could either remove full mudguard to a straight finish or do it in more complicated way (its quite easy to do thanks again to models construction but takes a little more attention - but gives more sturdy model finish. Here i decided to do it more complicated ay but other works too (tested on another model)

3. Then you have to form a mudguard to have correct shape, easily done with plasticard. Just be aware and not to break it. It should generally go a title high then a smooth don and be straight again near place where upper armor plates connect. Its simple in reality.

4 part is removal of upper side plates that protect exhaust on B version but are removed in C,- that very obvious, and filling holes in the model.

5 In this step you have to make new boxes. They should go from mentioned point where armor plates meet to end of the flat mudguard part. Building them from flat 2mm plasticard is very easy and add structural integrity to the mudguards.
Plasticard have to be formed to fit straightly and stick to both wall of the vehicle and mudguards. Then add box covers from thinnest plasticard.

6 Next part are protrusions on the engine armor, they are easily done from plasticard with nice file.

7. Finishing touch is gunshield and round cap in the front. You might add front towing hooks at this part. When you cut front part of the mudguard - it falls downward in B and is simplified in C last thing to do is adding of Lamps that will be lost. Fortunately great part is on the sprue in form of parts that are attached to the wheels on the sprue. They are perfect sized and shaped. Don't forget to sandpaper side vision slits in the back and tools from the side armor.

Is this good way to convert them.. Well if you have time and models. Or are starving for cash.. Otherwise buy excellent PSC or new battlefront late Sdkfz Model. But if you have Zvezda models its worth the try and looks good on the table.

Now to finish painting this one, and its ready (well thats a lie i used it like that in recent game of Chain of Command :) but it still need some brushwork ..

2. Zwycięzce wybierze głosowanie w postaci mailowej na utworzone konto pocztowe (TBA), by glosować trzeba być uczestnikiem forum. Nie można głosować na swój model wystawiony w konkursie.

3. Dodatkową konkurencją jest niezależny subkonkurs na najdoskonalsze odwzorowanie modelu ze zdjęcia. Tu dopuszczalne jest wstawienie dioramki, ale model musi być nieprzytwierdzony na stałe by spełniać wymogi punktu 1.
Jurorem tej konkurencji i sponsorem nagrody jest Fromhold (dodatkowe zdjęcia z ewentualną dioramką proszę wysyłać do niego).
Uczestnictwo w tej subkategorii jest automatyczne dla wszystkich, którzy umieszczą w swoim poście z pracą zdjęcie które próbują naśladować.

4. Wszystkie wątpliwości rozstrzyga sędzia główny czyli ja, głosy będzie liczyć kolegialnie wybrana komisja skrutacyjna forumowiczów nie biorących udziału w konkursie [TBA] (i jako, że wybory przez głosowanie to wstawiam swój model) :>
W przypadku remisu tie breaker rozstrzygnie komisja skrutacyjna w głosowaniu.

5. Zgłoszenie i prace umieszczamy w wątku obok przeznaczonym na zgłoszenie i pracę, (i tylko to w tamtym wątku, reszta będzie kasowana).

Jedyne znane mi zdjęcie T 34 wyzwalającego  Kutno :)

Termin finalizowania prac  19 Stycznia (Bo wtedy wojska radzieckie wyzwoliły Kutno, miejsce urodzenia mej szanownej małżonki spod buta germańskiego okupanta).
W razie czego się go przesunie o k6 dni

Krokodylion Challenge 2011 Wyniki - Results

Mój Elfik 2.0

Na poczatku mej działalności blogowej w styczniu pisałem o pomyśle na malarskie rozruszanie Krokodyliona (Sochaczewskiego klubu miłośników fantastyki i gier) . Mianowicie zaproponowanym przeze mnie wyzwaniu Krokodylion Challenge !. Zabawa miała polegać na pomalowaniu przez wszystkich tego samego modelu (lub wystarczająca zbliżonego). Po deliberacjach stanęło na Ellyrian Reaversie - kawalerzyście Clibanariu/Assawira High Elfów z zestawu Island of Blood. Jest to bardzo łądny model, który posiada jako kawaleria w sumie dwa pod-modele oraz tylko niewielka cześc modelu jest plytową zbroja - z jakiegos malowanie modeli w płytowych zbrojach prowadzi do nudnych hi powtarzalnych wyników... :)

Termin był na poczatku 1 maja.. potem czerwiec, w końcu w lipcu postanowiliśmy zrobić podsumowanie i ogarnąć wyniki.

Ostatecznie modele pomalowali Kazan, Wilczek (prawie - ale to był jego pierwszy pomalowany model ever :), Szczepan i Ja.

Mój elfik w wersji podstawowej

I've decided to try to encourage my fellow club members to paint things. I issued a challenge (popular all over the Internet) to paint 1 model by as many people as possible and share the results.
We chose Ellyrian Reaver model from the new Island of Blood set, as they are both beautiful and dirt cheap.(Infantry models in the set are to armory or to sneaky o be interesting paint material for such event).For some reason painted models with ful plate armors seams to be dull and black and dark furred small skaven lost in group. Ellyrian reavers have everything to become painting contest celebrity !!


We have 7 participants..First deadline was 1st may, but we have to push it few times.. Finally 1st August i forced the issue. 
In effect We have 4 very nice painted Elves (well one lacked his head but as it was first model ever painted by Wilczek we decided to count him in :)



Jak widać z powyższych efektem jest czwórka dzielnych elfów (w tym jeden bez głowy :)
na pewno nowi malarze czyli Wilczek i Kazan masę się nauczyli - te jedne z ich pierwszych modeli pomalowanych w karierze. Ja (i myślę, że Szczepan Tez ) miałem dużo zabawy z tym elfikiem)
Już się zastanawiam na co ich namówić w 2012 :>
I jak zwiększyć motywacje i frekwencję !!


As you see we have 4 cool elves, a lot of fun and both Wilczek and Kazan as begginer painters learned invaluable lessons !

La garde meurt, mais elle ne se rend pas !!

Z powodu pracy wytężonej nad dysertacją modelarstwo moje leży i kwiczy od czasu jakiegoś updejty bloga są nieregularne więc wrzucam zapychacza.
W ramach stylizacji na spóźnioną imprezę urodzinową która miała miejsce smutnego 18 czerwca postanowiłem zaszaleć i pobawić się  z Napoleońską stylizacją - Le canone !
Armata jest prawie w skali (z przyczyn technicznych musiałem ściąć końcówkę lawety i zmniejszyć o 7 cm średnicę koła - no i wprowadzić pewne uproszczenia modelu ;D
 taki modelarski MacGyveryzm z tektury i taśmy, ale goście byli pod odpowiednim wrażeniem :>

So i am making proxy update about my Le canone. Piece of decoration that welcomed guest at my Birthstad/Waterloo mourning party when they were entering the level 
on which my flat is (near my flat's doors).
Its almost exactly scale piece of cardboard and duct tape modeling  McGyver style :>
