Battletech in 2023

 After 30 years (yup, Ive got my Battletech starter with plastic miniatures in 1993) I bought me some Mechs again... (ok thats not technically true as Ive got mmetal Sagittaire around 2008 (?) and some Czech made bootleg metal Marauder around 2001 but this was my second Battletech starter after 1993 one).
And Catalyst did wonders with them! I love each new mechs - event Phoenix hawk - my least fav of the old set! I am not a fan of the game, but I love the world and the minis. And I plan to try Alpha strike - Battletech light.

And started to have some fun. Meet my awesome friend: The Awesome. 1st Marik Militia.

Sarisoforoi - Syntagma Pezetairów

Po wielu latach pracy (składającej się głównie z przerw;) ukończyłem wreszcie Syntagmę macedońską.
Syntagma to najmniejszy odział piechoty noszących sarissy falangitów w armii Aleksandra Wielkiego i jego następców.
Składał się z 256 ludzi ustawionych w szesnaście szeregów po szesnastu ludzi każdy. Dowódca zajmował pierwszą pozycję w szeregu z lewej strony oddziału. W kolejnych rzędach (lochos) stali ich dowódcy, za nimi doświadczenie falangici, a w ostatnim rzędzie kolejni weterani mający zapewnić spójność udziału w bitwie.

Figurki to Baccus 6 mm. Wybrałem opcję bez odlanych sariss co kosztowało mnie mase pracy i sprawia, że są stosunkowo delikatni i podatni na uszkodzenia...

After many years of work (literally years i am working on this project lets say irregularly :)
Ive finished what would be full Syntagma : basic unit of Macedonian army in 1:1 ratio.
Syntagma was unit of 256 men placed in 16 rows of 16 men each. 
Miniatures are Baccus 6mm. They have few issues but are quite nice and paint well. Only thing i don't like in them is my choice of hand free option (without cast sarissas). Making sarissas is probably love or hate relation but i am definitely in the hate camp. And that makes them bit delicate and susceptible to damage (obviously sarissa loss).

But what a sight !!!!!!!! Thats why i started to paint 6 mm ancients. For a look of phalanx !

Tarcze są różne bo wiem to cztery rzędy Pk do systemów z rodziny DBX. Oddział jest częścią mojej boleśnie powoli powstającej Armii Seleukidów do DBMMa.

 

This is part of my Seleukids army for DBMM. We have here 4 "units" of 4 bases deep so shields are in 4 (well 3 to be honest) configurations.
