Return to Kosaczev.. Necromunda 2017 Downtown Dust up

Whole band of civilians used, despite stray shots rules only singular civilian was gunned down this game.

 I am having a lot of fun painting Hangers on and strange personas for Necromunda. Over the years I've built quite some of them and featured them heavily on this blog. Recently I got my few Forge world resin ones. As I've added 5 more since January this year  I decided its time to use them at the dawn of the new edition (or dusk of 2017). We played the Downtown Dust up  a scenario I've been eying for a some time. It comes from older Main Rulebook - First Hard cover one that replaced original 2017 box rulebook and was removed from current (for another two weeks as we speak) hardcover and following softcover rulebooks. As we speak Necromunda 2017 have 3 hardcover and 3 softcover rulebooks despite having virtually same rules in them, just updated with new material like vehicles and specific campaign material. What is unique in Downtown Dust up - its singular scenario using NPC civilian miniatures as scenario element and not extra arbitrator tools. And I wanted to play it for some time as I love scenarios with neutral creatures from Frostgrave/Stargrave styled games. There are rules to how civilians will react to violence around them, they can either decide to ignore it as kind of norm in the Hive, they can break in fear and run for cover or they can produce their gun and shot closest model in the back (which happened quite often and they smoked few holes in the Eschers and The Cawdors).

 I've made only few photos of the actual game itself as I had somewhat unfinished Escher gang and fought against undercoated Cawdors but I took some photos of the civilians themselves in group and in natural habitat.

Oldest civilian Ive made (Goliath worker girl made from OG plastic Goliath around 2005 with spud jacker replacing her inferior worktool in 2017) and a FW Relicmonger Ive painted in 2026

Whole happy group. I love those models. My problem is I want to paint them and not my Eschers. I hope I will get the second wind thanks to new models and some actual gaming with them. I built6 new Eschers after this game.. now to paint them will be more gruelling work :D

Necromunda 2017 looks to be a great year for GW

After 20 years GW decided to go full Necromunda..
Shadow War Armageddon was great game despite being splash sale product to fund terrain tooling :)
But Whole new Necromunda Edition with new miniatures ? Hell yess..

While models themselves seam to be painted and photographed to a lover standard than GW used to do.. I love them

Starter set will have Escher and Goliath gangs.. Escher are my first gang and all time favorite.. I hated Goliath - mostly because of silly over muscling and bad models in original starter set bot later learned to appreciate their campiness..  Those Eschers fits nice style vise with Jess Goodwin masterpieces but Goliath are much more brutish and serious than Glam bodybuilders wasteland nomads of the 80 ties - of the past. I like them very much and they will fund myriad of uses in Inquisimunda.

Game itself will be based on 8 edition but with full stat line.
That means simplified close combat. Unnecessary IMHO.
One thing they mention that is interesting is Model based activation.
IGOUGO is worst element of Necromunda - unattractive in skirmish gaming. Vague info about activation roll and Leader making activating easier (either influencing the roll or allowing multiple activation Frostgrave style) is not enough to decide if it will make game better or worse.. But activation is one thing I am experimenting with houserules (lately with card activation).

Time will show.

Anyway.. If the game itself will be unfunny.. We will play my beloved Necromunda. Either Original first or Community. But the miniatures will make wonders for Necromunda renaissance!

Then there are Starsky and Hutch Scummers from my Guilder Gang and how they looked like few months ago when Ive posted them. And their Boss Guilder almost finished.

Second my take on true scale marine. It was fast and dirty project for fun but i have to say that i like the guy :> Ive newer have that much fun with marines since i left elementary school (well to be honest Ive newer liked them so i choose Alpha legion - old school )

Few comments: Thugs and Guilder are part of my Guilder gang for Necromunda, while Joana is member of Brat gang made from old style Confrontation ( Complicated rules close to Inquisitor in spirit and level not to be confused with Rackham Confrontation) miniatures.

Pop stars in the Hive - My gangs: Eschers

Dziś wpis krótki niestety.

Miał być battle raport z długiej i żałośnie mało skutecznej wymiany ognia mych Guildersów z Cawdorem  ntka. Niestety zdjęcia wyszły tak fatalne, że się do niczego nie nadają.. A wynik gry tak rozpaczliwie (szczęście pobitewne vs pech ) nierówny, że postanowiłem odpuścić.

 Za to trochę modeli.

Moje gangi: Escherki.

Pierwszy gang który zakupiłem w 1996 kilka miesięcy po wyjściu Necromundy i długo tylko nimi grałem, niestety z powodu niemożności dostania modeli tylko boksem. W zeszłym roku udało mi się w końcu nabyć ostatnia brakującą. Od początku były ze 3 razy przemalowywane, ale wreszcie po tym jak spróbowałem żółtej farby foundation udało mi się osiągnąć efekt jaki marzył mi się od początku.

Today entry is a bit short. Instead of battle report of latest Guilders against Cawdor (which was  exciting to play, but such festival of mistakes and bad luck while making  great game makes bad reports and most importantly  my photos vere inadequate for posting ;( 

So few photos of my Eschers.

I bought first of them around 96 close to their release, but finally got last of the set last year. They were repainted few times but after discovering citadel foundation yellow I’ve manage to acquire effect i was aiming from my day one with them.

I refleksja, zawsze się zastanawiałem, kogo przedstawiają modele takie jak Escherki, wych elfki i temu podobne. Podejrzewałem punkówy albo gotki, albo gwiazdy porno lat 70 tych, ale ostatnio przejrzałem na oczy..

To gwiazdy pop!!!

And a thought, Iv been always wondering whose models such as Eshers and Witch elves and such are supposed to portrait. I suspected Goths or punk chick or porn stars of the 70 ties.

But now i had epiphany – they are Pop stars !!
