Cultist break and review - Dark Vengeance add on

As some people might be interested in how cultist are designed and what part we could scavenge from them, Ive decided to make report of how they all work component wise. And as pictures speak louder than words here there are..





First autogun Cultists

In this set we get 2 each of 4 posed autogunner cultists.
Each autogun is separete part, but with palms on the trigger and grip and parts of the arms with pins on the trigger arm and small hole on the supporting arm.
3 of them have supporting arm as part of the body without undercut,  but last one could be easily converted, as gun is placed on a pin on his body.
Nice touch is that there is equal spread of right and left handed guns.
 I think that first guy is my favorite cultist from the set. His face mask is not best, and would be quite difficult to remove without extra work with GS later, but his pose is just imposing and characterful. last one has greatest conversion potential but again his face mask is so so and will be pain to remove without ruining his hood.

 

Then come autopistol armed guys
Again 2 of each of 4 poses. As they don't have arms jointed with their bodies they will be easier to convert.
Autopistol are quite nice set. We have 2 mirror hands with different kinds of autopistol. And then 2 left handed, one on the body, and one with the head. Extra separate knife on half body of  bare chested guy is less interesting but worth mention.
I like most barechested guy with stiched lips. How cool is that. Signs of his allegiance to chaos will be easily removable too. Another two guys - Mr gasmask and bald guy, are mirrors of each other with different heads and weapons. That gives us mirror autopistol for some Desperado gunslinger !
last one due to separated head will be easiest to convert, His head is very Cawdor like really. He got Cawdor mask on. .

Then comes heavies.

 Very nice body with fat belly and very convertable and heavy stubber (almost identical in pose to classic Orlock stubber heavy and stubber alone is cross between Orlock and Goliath guns but in plastic !!)
Flamer is less exciting but could be is unique long barreled.
Heavies looks little butchery, i would love to make some executioners and butchers from  second set i am getting for sure..

 In comparison to the cultist leaders looks less interesting. They have cool components but as stand alone they are IMHO lacking. Great guy with coat have silly head not matching rest of the guys and is most disappointing from the set IMHO, I will change his head and pose for sure. Hooded guy is nicer and have unique pose but lacks any gun (his hand is very cool and will be seen in conversion).

Summarizing we got 8 autoguns, 8 autopistols, and very nice stubber !!! In my opinion thats enough to buy this set if you are Necromunda, Inq28 fan.
20 great bodies that could be base for any kind of conversion is almost a bonus to these guns :>
Go buy them while they are still warm :>


Update:
Ive been asked for alleged extra base elements in this set. There are 5 pieces that are meant to be placed on terminator bases (each base even hav a hole for the. One of them is great cultist head that could be very useful in making unique guys.

Doe ! Sci Fi Mi 24 from Khurasan Miniatures we waited for years is upon us!

And as a bonus few photos my friend done recently in Afganistan.

Its best 15 mm Attack raft Ive seen and best transition of modern (well little Dated by today standard but still strong) into Sci fi genre, and just beautifully model of most interpreting chopper design of all time.

New GW Necromunda release ? Update with all the miniatures ,Cultist leaked at last

At last someone leaked pics from new 40 K starter..

For a Necromunda fan they will be a treat !
Unfortunately picture is weak but i will try to update it when new will show up.

What we see is nice legs, cool head, but easy to cut off, nice 40k tubes, I would like to know how they end on the back.

Never the less great conversion potential. They are models that will be seen aroundUnderhive in a plenty.. Especialy since we know there are autopistol/CCW armed options too, and flamer/stubber heavy to boot!!

Its like Necromunda release really..
Autogun itself is worth it :>

Rest of them is least necromundy but very detailed and intresting too

Weak link Dark Angels, but i heard Bikers and terminators are better.

And Up with rest of DA.. yup Terminators are sexier than bland marines squad but CUltist and Chaos blokes are stars of this set..

Its scavvy world

Today different taste of The Underhive!
Bad taste, and somewhat smelly!
I started my Scavvies when GW released LostandtheDamned set around Eye of terror campaign. It consisted of Catachan, Zombie, Ork and mutation sprues in an unholy mutant/traitor making combo. Bot surprisingly my first Scavvies were(an still are) made of theses components. To this time Ive finished to good standard and painted only those two fellows.

They were then base for trying and working up how to paint metal Scavvies Ive acquired many years later.
Here is what Ive got painted so far (baseles because I haven't figuret how to base them Underhivy but Scavvy yet:

I think that they are much unappreciated models, and they are full of nasty character and great looking models that passed test of time (Second generation scavvies ar much simpler and without these quirks and personalities - just bland). Detail is great on them !

Then still yet in WIP stage Scavvy Bosses

What strikes me most is how great are these unhealthy faces.. Colin Dixon who sculpted them back in the day made really great job in personalizing and in making them just well scavvy :) Boses are epitome of that, especially one with Lance Hendricksen like fallen cheeks.

When mothers  in the Underhive want to scare their children when they behave in bad way  they tell them that Awixos will come and eat them.. Sometimes that sadly the truth ..

Then Cultist and Witch

She is Fimo sculpted and finished with Demonette nad DE parts (and mantic ghoul open hand). Cultist is almost pure Mantic ghoul with laspistol and chain. These Ghouls are Ok models, but overal nothing spectacular as minis but have great hunched poses for conversion work and best plastic open hands Ive ewer saw.. They are worth buy just to get hands alone..

And three =I=28mm pieces: Inquisitor, Crusader (stock minis) and Huntress

Inquisitor is stock Torquemada. I love this miniature (well maybe giant bird not so much) but its just too cool to cut him for parts so here comes a Bird. I will have to get another one and convert, because body is just great. Crusader is another great sculpt. I will do some Crusaders from scrach for sure, but again model itself is great in its metal glory..and i will have to buy one to get second variant which just got finecasted and repackaged in twinpack -what make it price decrease!)

And Huntress. She was made as Bounty hunter but  I think she will work better as =I=28mm character better. Her beautifull body is Epic Scarre from Warmachine with DEsword and net.

Girls in the Hive

After long and bloody campaign depicting hilarious struggle of Delaque Dark Dervishes so inept to be renamed as Clowns vs ratskin menace we decided to spice up our campaign with addition of new blood.

This should motivate me to paint some Necromunda stuff.

As we are gaming very rarely (once a month at best) we decided to start with little bit of experience to spice games up, sometimes you could play two or three games without any advances if you are unlucky (thats 4 possible months for us!)
I created two gangs so far. One is  Barbie Black - Eshers, Second Orlock (Ive newer played them) which are cool but a bit bland so i called them simply Bad Boys. As I tend to add nicknames or completely overhaul my gang image (Dervishes to Clowns) based on performance and narrative, we will see where it takes BarbiesBlack and Bad Boys :)
We decided to upp starting experience by one level and roll one advancement for each member, with balancing rule that Leader and heavies could only get skill, not stat boost (+1 BS on any of them would be too powerful for any of them..

So here are my Esher remade so ready so far:

But Damn i have only 3 finished.., of them only Marija the Fixeress with shotgun and Cleopatra extra tough close combater made the list. I had to downgrade Paris from boltgun to lasgun to fit her in, and speed up my work on her boltgun armed version..
And Autogunner, well she is finished but i will be using other autogunner in my gang as I am not to fond of her pose.







Then comes Gaga!

Still somewhat WIPy (before face touches and last wash of black) but almost ready, but she should have flamer in place of Boltgun. Her Modestly, more punk haircut and flamer wielding version is very very WIP..
I haven't decided if i will use her as flamergirl or downgrade to boltgun.





Then comes Juves, I will use pair- Mara and Mona, autopistol and sword duellists.

I count her pipe as sword, I am not normally picky about WISIWIG because i love these classic Necromunda miniatures and collect them, so i cut only spares.





Then comes rest in more WIP state of  work.
